How do clothes feel on your skin? SKIN captures women’s relationships with their wardrobes. The film seeks to move the conversation from how clothes look to how clothes feel. It enters a voyeuristic realm of stranger’s relationships with the sensory aspects of garments. The film’s narration is based on testimony with a diversity of women who evoke the pleasure, pain, shimmer and irritation of clothes on every part of ourselves. Skin offers an intimate, personal but also collective sensory experience.
Creative concept / directing
A script rooted in the simple insight that there is very little more that brings people comfort and happiness than fresh sheets after a long week at work.
The comforting sensations of fresh clean fabric are translated through soft delicate visuals and warm textured light. Intimate sound design further immerses the viewer into the bliss that Lenor can bring to their life.
